What Makes Our Alumni Program Special

Your Lifelong Recovery Community

Facebook Alumni Group

Our private Facebook group is the heart of the alumni community. Connect with fellow graduates, share milestones, offer encouragement, and stay plugged into the Trailhead family — all from wherever life takes you.

Peer Support Network

Recovery is stronger together. Our alumni network connects you with people who understand your journey — real relationships built during treatment that continue growing long after graduation.

Recovery Milestone Celebrations

Every milestone matters. We celebrate your recovery anniversaries, sobriety dates, and personal achievements — because acknowledging progress is a powerful part of staying the course.

Monthly Alumni Gatherings

Every month, Trailhead alumni come together for community events — cookouts, game nights, guest speakers, and open discussions. These gatherings are a chance to reconnect, share your journey, and remind yourself that you're part of something bigger than any single moment in recovery.

Recovery Walks & Outdoor Activities

True to the Trailhead spirit, we organize recovery walks, hiking outings, and outdoor activities throughout the year. Fresh air, movement, and fellowship — a natural combination that reinforces the healthy habits you built during treatment.

Community Volunteer Events

Giving back is a cornerstone of lasting recovery. Our alumni volunteer together at local organizations, food drives, and community service projects — strengthening bonds while making a positive impact in the Salem, NH area.

Seasonal Celebrations

Holiday gatherings, summer BBQs, sober New Year's events, and milestone celebrations throughout the year. These sober social activities prove that life in recovery is full, joyful, and worth celebrating — no substances required.

Your Alumni Journey

From Graduation to Lifelong Community

Phase 1: Graduation Phase 2: Connection Phase 3: Participation Phase 4: Lifelong

Graduation & Enrollment

When you complete your Trailhead program — whether PHP, IOP, or outpatient — you're automatically welcomed into the alumni community. You'll receive information about the Facebook group, upcoming events, and continued family support resources. Graduation is a beginning, not an ending.

Community Connection

Attend your first alumni event, connect with fellow graduates in the Facebook group, and find your people. This phase is about building the social connections that will support your recovery long-term — discovering that you're never alone on this journey.

Active Participation

As you settle into recovery life, deepen your involvement. Attend regular events, explore volunteer opportunities, and consider mentoring newer graduates who are just beginning their post-treatment journey. Giving back strengthens your own recovery in powerful ways.

Lifelong Recovery

The alumni community is yours forever. Celebrate milestones, lean on your network during challenging times, and continue growing alongside people who understand your path. Whether it's been one month or ten years since graduation, Trailhead is always home.

Common Questions

Answers About the Alumni Program

What is the Trailhead Alumni Program?
The Trailhead Alumni Program is a free, lifelong community for all graduates of our treatment programs. It includes a private Facebook group for peer support, monthly in-person events, continued family support groups via Zoom, and access to resources and referrals — all at no cost to you, for as long as you want to stay connected.
Is the alumni program free?
Yes — completely free, always. There are no fees, dues, or hidden costs. The alumni program is our commitment to your long-term recovery. Once you graduate from any Trailhead program, you're a member of the alumni community for life at no charge.
How do I join the alumni group?
Your care team will help you join the private Facebook alumni group before you graduate. Simply request to join the group on Facebook, and you'll be approved by our staff. If you've already graduated and aren't connected yet, call us at (857) 312-1697 and we'll get you set up.
What alumni events are offered?
We host monthly alumni gatherings that rotate between different formats — cookouts, game nights, guest speakers, recovery walks, community volunteer events, and seasonal celebrations. Events are announced in the Facebook group and via email so you always know what's coming up.
Can my family participate in alumni activities?
Absolutely. Family members are welcome at family-oriented alumni events, and our monthly Zoom family support groups remain open to any alumni family member age 18 and older. Recovery is a family journey, and we want your loved ones to feel supported too.
Do I have to be active on Facebook to participate?
Not at all. While the Facebook group is a central part of our alumni community, it's not the only way to stay connected. You can attend in-person events, join family support groups on Zoom, or simply call us when you need support or resources. We meet you where you are.
Can I rejoin treatment if I need help again?
Yes — without any judgment. Relapse can be part of the recovery process, and we understand that. If you need to re-engage with treatment at any point, call us at (857) 312-1697. Our team will work with you to determine the right level of care and get you back on track as quickly as possible.
How does the alumni program support long-term recovery?
Research consistently shows that ongoing community connection is one of the strongest predictors of sustained recovery. Our alumni program provides that through peer support, accountability, social activities, milestone celebrations, and the knowledge that you always have a safe community to return to when life gets challenging.
Are there volunteer opportunities?
Yes — and they're incredibly rewarding. Alumni can volunteer at community events, participate in service projects, and mentor newer graduates who are beginning their post-treatment journey. Giving back is a powerful part of recovery, and we create regular opportunities for alumni to serve.
How do I stay connected with other alumni?
The Facebook group is your 24/7 connection to fellow graduates. Beyond that, monthly events bring alumni together in person, and the relationships you build during treatment naturally continue into your alumni experience. Many graduates form lasting friendships that become a core part of their recovery support network.
