Your Program

Four Chapters of IOP Treatment

Our Intensive Outpatient Program isn't a watered-down version of anything. It's a focused recovery journey with three schedule tracks, built for people ready to balance healing with the rest of their lives.

Chapter I

Your Schedule

Choose the track that fits your life. Morning sessions run 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM, afternoon sessions from 12:30 to 3:30 PM, and the professional evening track meets Monday through Thursday, 6:00 to 9:00 PM. You attend three to four sessions per week over 60 to 90 days — enough structure to build real momentum without uprooting your daily responsibilities.

Within 72 hours of admission, you'll meet with our Nurse Practitioner for a medication evaluation and management plan. Weekly individual therapy sessions begin immediately, and your treatment plan is built collaboratively — shaped by your goals, your schedule, and your clinical needs.

Building Skills

Group therapy is the engine of IOP. Evidence-based skills groups in CBT, DBT, and ACT give you practical tools for managing cravings, regulating emotions, and preventing relapse — tools you practice in session and apply in real life the same day.

Psychoeducation deepens your understanding of addiction, mental health, and the connection between the two. Snacks are provided during sessions to keep your focus sharp. And because every person's recovery looks different, your treatment plan adapts as you progress — collaborative goal setting ensures the skills you're building are the ones that matter most to your life.

Chapter III

Growing Connection

Recovery in IOP happens alongside your real life — and that means rebuilding relationships in real time. Family therapy is available individually and through monthly Zoom support groups, helping your loved ones understand addiction and learn how to support you effectively.

Fellowship with other IOP clients creates bonds that extend far beyond sessions. Sober activities — group hikes, equine therapy at a local farm, community events — give you practice at living fully and joyfully without substances, surrounded by people who understand exactly where you are.

Chapter IV

Transition & Aftercare

The final chapter of IOP is about cementing the independence you've been building. Case management support covers practical realities — resume writing, job search assistance, court paperwork, and housing coordination including sober living options.

Transition planning begins early, not as an afterthought. Your clinical team coordinates step-down to standard outpatient care, connects you with external therapists and psychiatrists, and enrolls you in our alumni program — a lifelong community of graduates who celebrate your milestones and are always a phone call away. Your IOP chapter ends, but the story you've written here keeps going.

Your Journey

How Your Story Unfolds

Dear You,
Assessment & Enrollment —

everything begins with understanding where you are. Our clinical team conducts a comprehensive assessment to learn your history, goals, and clinical needs. Within 72 hours, you'll meet with our Nurse Practitioner for a medication evaluation. Together, we'll choose your schedule track — morning, afternoon, or evening — and build a treatment plan designed for your life.

Stabilization & Skill Building —

you'll settle into a rhythm that balances treatment with independence. Group therapy sessions in CBT, DBT, and ACT build practical coping skills. Weekly individual therapy deepens self-understanding. Psychoeducation connects the dots between addiction, mental health, and your daily choices. This is where the foundation gets laid — session by session, skill by skill.

Growth & Integration —

recovery starts showing up in your real life. You're applying skills at work, at home, in relationships. Sober activities — hiking, equine therapy, community events — become natural parts of your week. Family therapy helps rebuild trust. The gap between who you are in session and who you are outside it begins to close.

Transition & Aftercare —

we don't just say goodbye. Your case manager coordinates step-down to standard outpatient care, connects you with external therapists and psychiatrists, and enrolls you in our alumni program — a lifelong community of graduates who celebrate your milestones and are always just a phone call away. Your IOP chapter ends, but the story keeps going.

Most clients have some or all of IOP covered by insurance. We accept Anthem BCBS, Point 32 (Harvard Pilgrim + Tufts), Tricare, Uprise Health, and WellSense NH Medicaid. Affordable self-pay options and financial assistance are also available.
