How do I start the admissions process?
Call our admissions line at (857) 312-1697. You'll speak directly with a coordinator who will walk you through everything, from insurance verification to scheduling your clinical assessment. Many clients complete the entire process in a single day.

How long does it take from first call to starting treatment?
Most clients begin treatment within 24-48 hours of completing their admissions appointment. In urgent cases, same-day starts are possible. The full admissions process (verification, assessment, intake) can often be completed in a single day.

Do I need a referral from my doctor?
No referral is required. You can contact us directly by calling (857) 312-1697 or having a family member call on your behalf. We handle all clinical assessments and treatment planning in-house.

What should I bring on my first day?
Bring a valid photo ID, your insurance card, a list of current medications, and any relevant medical records. Dress comfortably. We provide everything else you need — notebooks, materials, and refreshments throughout the day.

Can I tour the facility before committing?
Absolutely. We encourage facility tours so you can feel comfortable before your first day. Tours are available by appointment at 103 Stiles Rd, Suites 1 & 2, Salem, NH 03079. Virtual tours via telehealth are also available.

What if I don't have insurance?
We offer self-pay options and sliding scale fees based on your financial situation. Our financial team will work with you to find a solution. Cost should never be a barrier to getting help — call us and we'll explore every option together.

What happens on my first day of treatment?
You'll meet your assigned therapist and case manager, attend an orientation, and join your first group session. Within the first 24 hours, you'll also meet with a Nurse Practitioner for a medical evaluation and to discuss any medication needs including MAT.

What if my family member is resistant to treatment?
This is common and we're experienced in helping families navigate it. Call us at (857) 312-1697 and we can guide you through approaches that encourage willingness without coercion. Family involvement is a powerful catalyst for change.

Can I attend treatment from out of state?
In-person treatment at our Salem, NH facility is available to anyone who can commute. Our telehealth programs are currently available to New Hampshire residents. Contact us to discuss your specific situation and we'll help find the right arrangement.

Do you offer detox, or do I need to detox first?
Trailhead is an outpatient facility and does not provide medical detox on-site. However, we coordinate closely with trusted detox partners and can arrange a seamless transition from detox directly into our programming. We'll handle the coordination for you.
