Our PHP follows a structured four-phase approach, moving you progressively toward independence and lasting recovery.
Your journey begins with a comprehensive clinical assessment. Within 24 hours of admission, you'll meet with our Nurse Practitioner for a medication evaluation and work with the clinical team to develop your individualized treatment plan. This phase focuses on stabilization, establishing safety, and orienting you to the program structure.
The core of PHP. You'll engage in evidence-based group therapy (CBT, DBT, ACT), weekly individual therapy, and psychoeducation sessions. Collaborative goal-setting ensures your treatment targets what matters most to you. Daily skills groups build your toolkit for managing triggers, emotions, and cravings.
Put your new skills into practice in real-life situations. This phase incorporates sober activities (equine therapy, hiking, community events), family involvement through therapy and support groups, and practical life skills work. You'll begin testing your recovery toolkit in the world outside the treatment room.
As you prepare to transition, the clinical and case management team coordinates your aftercare. This includes step-down to IOP or outpatient, external therapist referrals, alumni program enrollment, sober living arrangements if needed, and continued family support group access. Recovery doesn't end here — it evolves.
When you're ready for help, we move fast. Our streamlined admission process gets you into treatment quickly.

The average PHP duration is 20–30 days, but your length of stay is determined by your clinical team based on your individual progress and needs. Some clients transition to IOP sooner, while others benefit from additional PHP time.
PHP runs from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, which makes working a standard job challenging. However, if you need to work, our IOP Evening Professional Track (6–9 PM) provides intensive treatment while accommodating your work schedule. Many clients transition from PHP to evening IOP when they're ready.
Most of our PHP clients use insurance, and we're in-network with Anthem BCBS, Point 32 (Harvard Pilgrim + Tufts), Tricare, Uprise Health, and WellSense NH Medicaid. We also offer affordable self-pay rates and can connect you with scholarship foundations. Call (857) 312-1697 for a free insurance verification.
Most major insurance plans cover PHP as it's a recognized level of addiction treatment. We're in-network with Anthem BCBS, Point 32, Tricare, Uprise Health, and WellSense NH Medicaid. For out-of-network plans, we can help verify your benefits. Our admissions team handles the prior authorization process for you.
Yes. We offer a telehealth hybrid option where you can attend some sessions virtually and some in-person. This is ideal for clients with transportation challenges or those who live further from our Salem, NH facility. All the same therapeutic programming is available via secure video.
PHP is our most intensive outpatient level, running 9:00 AM–3:30 PM with lunch provided. IOP is a step down, running 3.5 hours per session (morning, afternoon, or evening options). PHP is ideal for early recovery or those needing more structure; IOP works well for those who've stabilized and can manage more independence.
Absolutely. We offer individual family therapy coordinated with your primary therapist, plus monthly family support groups via Zoom. These groups cover codependency, family systems, and substance use education. They're open to any family member 18+, including families of past clients.
Most PHP clients step down to IOP for continued support, which can be morning, afternoon, or evening sessions. Your case management team also coordinates external therapist referrals, alumni program enrollment, sober living arrangements, and continued family support access. Your aftercare plan is built throughout your PHP stay.
PHP is ideal for adults (18+) who are stepping down from detox or residential treatment, actively using and needing intensive daily structure, or struggling with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. You don't need to be in crisis — PHP is also for those who recognize they need more support than outpatient alone can provide.
Several things set us apart: flexible scheduling that adapts to you, a family-style environment where staff and clients feel like a community, most staff having lived recovery experience alongside professional credentials, 12:1 counselor caseloads for truly personalized attention, and our value-based care model focused on outcomes, not just hours logged.
We work with major insurance providers to make PHP treatment accessible.
Out-of-network benefits may also apply. Flexible self-pay options available. Call to discuss your coverage.
