Four Phases of IOP Treatment

Our IOP follows a structured four-phase approach, building on your PHP foundation or providing intensive support as a starting point for recovery.

Phase 1

Assessment & Orientation

Your IOP journey begins with a clinical assessment and program orientation. Within 72 hours, you'll meet with our Nurse Practitioner for medication evaluation. Your clinical team develops an individualized treatment plan targeting your specific recovery goals.

Phase 2

Skill Building & Engagement

The core of IOP. You'll engage in evidence-based group therapy (CBT, DBT, ACT), weekly individual therapy, and psychoeducation. Choose from morning, afternoon, or evening tracks. Collaborative goal-setting ensures your treatment stays aligned with your life.

Phase 3

Application & Independence

Put your skills into practice with increasing autonomy. Sober activities, family involvement, and real-life skill application prepare you for life beyond intensive treatment. Your case manager supports practical needs like employment, housing, and legal matters.

Phase 4

Transition & Aftercare

As you prepare to step down to outpatient or graduate, your team coordinates aftercare planning. This includes external therapist referrals, alumni program enrollment, continued family support access, and sober living arrangements if needed.

IOP Program FAQs

The typical IOP duration is 60–90 days, though your length of stay is determined by your clinical team based on individual progress. Some clients transition to outpatient sooner, while others benefit from the full IOP duration.

We offer three tracks: Morning (9:00 AM–12:30 PM), Afternoon (12:30–3:30 PM), and our Professional Evening Track (6:00–9:00 PM, Monday through Thursday). You can switch between tracks as your schedule changes — flexibility is built in.

Absolutely — that's one of IOP's biggest advantages. Our Professional Evening Track (6–9 PM) is specifically designed for working adults. Morning and afternoon tracks also leave significant time for employment, school, or family obligations.

Most IOP clients use insurance, and we're in-network with Anthem BCBS, Point 32 (Harvard Pilgrim + Tufts), Tricare, Uprise Health, and WellSense NH Medicaid. We also offer affordable self-pay rates. Call (857) 312-1697 for a free insurance verification.

Yes, IOP is a widely recognized level of addiction treatment covered by most major insurance plans. We're in-network with several providers and our admissions team handles prior authorization. For out-of-network plans, we can help verify your benefits.

Yes. We offer a telehealth hybrid option where you can attend some sessions virtually and some in-person. This is ideal for clients with transportation challenges or those who prefer the flexibility of virtual attendance.

PHP is more intensive — running 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM with lunch provided. IOP sessions are 3.5 hours (morning, afternoon, or evening). IOP is ideal for those stepping down from PHP or who need intensive support while maintaining work, school, or family responsibilities.

Absolutely. We offer individual family therapy coordinated with your primary therapist, plus monthly family support groups via Zoom. These groups cover codependency, family systems, and substance use education — open to any family member 18+.

Most IOP clients step down to our Outpatient Program (OP) for continued weekly support. Your case management team also coordinates external therapist referrals, alumni program enrollment, sober living arrangements, and continued family support access.

IOP is ideal for adults stepping down from PHP, working professionals who need evening treatment, and anyone needing intensive support while maintaining daily responsibilities. It's also appropriate for those who've completed detox and need structured outpatient care.

IOP Insurance Coverage

We work with major insurance providers to make IOP treatment accessible.

Out-of-network benefits may also apply. Flexible self-pay options available. Call to discuss your coverage.

Conditions Treated in IOP

Comprehensive care for substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions.
