Mild In its early stages, opioid use disorder may look like taking more medication than prescribed or using it longer than intended, making unsuccessful attempts to cut down, or spending significant time obtaining, using, or recovering from opioids. You might find yourself craving opioids between doses, or noticing that what started as pain management is becoming something more.
Moderate As the disorder progresses, the signs become harder to ignore. Pinpoint pupils, excessive drowsiness, and nodding off are common physical signs. Track marks or skin infections may appear.
